Discovering the Terroir
Ancient Tree Black Tea 2020 — A Continuation of Purpose
Time moves quietly, yet meaningfully. One year after the release of our first ancient tree black tea in 2019, we entered the spring of 2020 with the same unwavering commitment — to pursue excellence in every leaf. To ensure each batch meets our highest standards, we conducted extensive evaluations, carefully studying and tasting multiple selections. Among them, this 2020 vintage stood out for its distinctive character and exceptional quality, earning its place as one of our core expressions.
Nature’s Subtle Influence
Each year, variations in climate, soil, and ecosystem bring subtle yet significant differences to the tea. The spring of 2020 presented unique growing conditions, shaping the leaves in ways that differed from the previous year. In response, we meticulously controlled every stage — from harvesting and withering to oxidation and drying — to preserve the tea’s natural integrity and richness. A professional panel of tea tasters conducted blind evaluations, assessing aroma, flavor, liquor color, and leaf structure. Through this rigorous selection process, this tea emerged with its layered aromatics, smooth body, and long-lasting sweetness.
The Art of Adaptation
The beauty of ancient tree black tea lies not only in the leaves, but in the precision of craftsmanship. Rather than applying a fixed method, we adapt our techniques each year to suit the character of the raw material. In 2020, the leaves carried higher moisture content, leading us to extend the withering process for improved softness and balanced oxidation. During drying, we employed a low-temperature, slow approach to achieve a rounder mouthfeel and a more refined aromatic profile.
Tasting Experience
In every cup, you will discover the essence of Northern Thailand’s highland forests. Notes of honey, fruit, and gentle wood intertwine seamlessly. The liquor is smooth, full-bodied, and naturally sweet, with a long, elegant finish. Each sip reflects both the generosity of nature and the discipline of refined craftsmanship.
